random acts of boredom

Moving in NYC is crazy, but thankfully Rosie and I found a place in what has been the easiest apartment seach in my life. We barely got our paperwork out for the application process in the broker’s office when another couple came in to turn in their papers for the same apartment. If we would have lingered for 5 more minutes at another place we were looking at instead of heading back to the office, we would have lost this apartment. And let me tell you, this place is a steal. It’s located in the quiet little neighborhood of Boerum Hill in Brooklyn, has a wood burning fireplace, we control our own thermostat (an unlikely thing in NYC), it has a dishwasher, 2 bedrooms, and is sunny, open, and large. I don’t think we could have found a more amazing place, especially at the price we locked in. We pick up the keys today and I will be taking pictures of our new empty place and promptly posting them on flickr. I am so exicted!

I find out today whether or not we get our new apartment! It’s going to be a long day at work…
